| rmschrey's Full Review: Contax TVS III 35mm Film Camera |
After coveting this camera for 2 years, I bought a refurbished demo model and took it on a trip to Jamaica with me and some friends with kids. The quality of the candids I took on that trip were amazing and I sighed relief that I hadn't ponied up the big bucks for nothing.
It is slow to open, and the lens needs to be watched, but otherwise, it's sturdy, hefty in the hand and freakishly easy to use. It's even got dummy deterrent built in - you try to take a picture into the sun, and it won't let you. It has eaten through a battery a little quicker then my Leica point and shoot, but nothing terrible.
I own and use digital cameras, but this is the one I reach for most ofter, because the quality of the results are so divine. Perhaps I am inspired by the abilities of the camera, or perhaps it has nothing to do with me - either way, I have yet to regret my investment and don't think I ever will.
