| kendslat's Full Review: Konica Minolta Maxxum Qtsi 35mm Film Camera |
This camera is meant to be an introduction to SLR photography.
That is why I bought it. I was looking for better picture quality that point and shoot cameras as well as the ability to add zoom lenses and use better flashes.
This camera produces a very decent image for the price. Many point and shoot cameras fall just under what this camera goes for - and with this camera you can add all the "Maxxum" lenses and flashes that you need. It is relatively lightweight and compact (compared to other SLR's) making it easy to bring along on a vacation.
Minolta's idea was to create an inexpensive yet high-quality camera to introduce people to the world of SLR. I think the problem here is that they are not getting a "true" introduction. With very little control of shutter and apperature (only the built in auto settings) you cannot get a feel of true photography.
That is OK for the people who want point and shoot simplicity with SLR quality pictures and the ability to add accessories.
I will be soon purchasing a new camera. I have outgrown this one in about 6 months - BUT - I will be keeping this one for those times when I just want to "point and shoot".
