surferdude7's Full Review: Konica Minolta Maxxum HTsi Plus Film Camera
This is a versatile simple to use camera that you can point and shoot with great picture results. Get the quality pictures you have been looking for with professional results.
This camera accepts a large array of Minolta Maxxum AF lenses, which gives you a large field of photographic range. It uses the Minolta A-type bayonet mount.
You can click of about 2 frames per second as long as you hold the button down. It has automatic film loading and will rewind the film when done.
You can focus automatically by just holding down the button slightly and when you have what you want, just press the button all the way down for the snap shot. You can also set the lens so you can focus it manually by turning on the lens.
The Auto Focus System
The Minolta Maxxum HTsi has a three-point system. It is a crosscut system with two vertical CCD sensors and one crosshair type CCD line sensor in the center.
This makes taking your pictures quicker than the older AF systems and gives you about a 2.7 times wider focus.
This is an excellent AF (Auto Focus) system.
Built-In Flash
The HTsi has a built in flash that is hidden unless you need it, then it will pop up from the top of the camera. Now I was using it in the automatic mode and when taking outside shots, the flash was never needed, so it did not pop up. Now when pointing toward a dark shaded area, I hear a little click and the flash automatically popped up ready to flash when I press the button.
The built-in flash has a range of about 39 feet at ISO film 100. It covers to 28mm with the sync speeds of up to 1/125th of a second. There are four different settings including red-eye reduction. Recycle time for the flash is between 3 to 4 seconds.
The Modes
When you turn on the camera it automatically starts out in the P Mode.
The P Mode is the expert program selection of the aperture and the shutter speed depending on what it sees through the lens. This is known as the automatic mode or point and shoot.
The M Mode is for making all your settings manually.
Then you have the A Mode for Aperture Priority.
The S Mode for Shutter Priority.
There are five modes to set it on for the best automatic shoots, Portrait, Landscape, Close-Up, Sports & Action, Night Portrait, all have an icon in the LCD.
LCD
There is a monochrome LCD on the top of the camera that gives you information like, pictures left, what mode you are in and so on.

Overall
This is a nice camera for the beginner and for the one who wants to play around with a nice 35mm SLR camera.
The only thing I missed was having a built in LCD in the viewfinder, this camera did not have one and I was use to getting most of my information through the Viewfinder.
Focusing is easy and fast, loading the film is a breeze and the automatic rewind is nice.
The pictures come out great in the P Mode and you will be proud of the quality.
The built-in flash being out of sight is nice and it does a fairly good job, though I would have to have a separate flash myself. Even if you have a separate flash, the built in flash is nice in case you left the house without the other flash.
The camera feels good and is balanced well, I was using it with a 35mm to 70mm lens.
