| ryankorbin's Full Review: Alpine CDM-7835 |
I purchased this unit at "Sound World," and since I wanted the best information I went straight to the manager for advice. I asked him what he would most recommend, and what he personally has installed in his car. He immediately pointed me over to the Alpine systems. He told me that they without a doubt have the best technology to reduce skips, and since I would be installing this unit into my truck, that would definitely be a important factor in choosing the best model for me. He also told me that they have the fewest problems/returns on their Alpine products, and they are built to last. I ended up taking his advice and going with an Alpine system, and I'm glad that I did!
I have been using this product for over a year now, and I haven't had a single problem with it. The biggest complaint that I have with it is, on hot summer days, after you have been using it for a while, it starts to get a little slow ejecting and loading CD's. This isn't a big deal at all, and I would hardly consider this a major problem. This product is very easy to use, but on the down side there aren't a ton of features. (Which are always fun to play around with.) At times I wish that I could customize the sound of my system a little bit more, but since this product doesn't have the most cutting edge technology, those options aren't offered. I have never experienced any problems with skipping, which is a big plus. And the deck still looks brand new. It is a very easy system to install, I got mine installed by myself without any big problems. This was the first CD player that I have installed too. This product has a detachable face, which is pretty much a standard feature today on almost every CD player that is made. Another good thing about this deck is that at night, when you turn your car lights on, the buttons are all illuminated very well, so you can easily tell what button you are trying to push.
All in all, this is a great deck, and I would recommend it to anyone. I have been problem free ever since I purchased this unit, and I can't see anything happening to it in the near future, due to the fact that it is still in perfect condition. If I do have any problems, I'll be sure and tell you about them.
