| jduffett's Full Review: Nakamichi CD-45Z Car CD Player |
I've had my CD-45z for about 2 years now. I bought my first Nak deck about 3 years ago--a CD-35z. I was looking for a simple, functional, high quality, great sounding deck, and that is what I got. Even with factory speakers the sound was impressive. I did have trouble with the 35z, it was returned for warranty work because it had trouble ejecting discs after a couple of months. I took this opportunity to upgrade to the 45z, and I am pleased to report I have had no problems with it, and am enjoying the addition of the 20-bit D/A convertor. I am currently in the process of upgrading my speakers, something I have put off so long because I was amazed at how good the factory units sounded with this deck. A big selling feature of this deck for me was its subtle, classy looks and simple features. No gimmicky features or flashing lights--this thing gets the job done (and done well) with a minimum of fuss. It fits great with my interior, most people think it is the factory deck.
