The most crucial component to a car audio system is the deck. The consumer wants high quality without spending the whole budget.
When I was shopping for a CD deck for my car there were many choices. With the huge jumps being made in face plate technology, it was hard to determine which ones had good functionality and which ones just had cool lights and displays. After a couple weeks of research I chose the Pioneer DEH-P4000.
I made this choice for a few reasons. The main reason was that I wanted more power to my speakers. The P4000 delivers 45wX4 making each speaker work to its potential. Until just recently this 45watt output was the most powerful you could find built into a deck. Another key reason was that I wanted an easy access equalizer. The grey switch [with inset blue light] found between the 2 volume buttons allows one to switch among an array of sound settings. This way I can control the amount of power to my subwoofers without buying any extra equipment. The final reason that I chose the P4000 was the cost. When I purchased the unit it was around 250 dollars. I liked this because I was able to purchase a high quality deck without breaking the bank. Therefore, I was able to use my remaining funds to buy more sound equipment.
The P4000 is a great deck to add into any car. It has power, precise control, a removable face plate [with security system], and a colorful display screen. On top of that, mine also included a small remote control which allows the driver to operate the unit without losing focus on the road.
