Pros: Hard to think of pro's when the con's are such a big deal
Cons: Where do I begin...no multi-speaker playback for music, very confusing, etc.
The Bottom Line: Do not purchase this receiver. You will be much happier with something else. This is overpriced junk.

| gururyan's Full Review: harman/kardon AVR 65 Receiver |
This receiver looked good enough when I bought it at a charity auction. Luckily I only paid $150 for it or I would be very upset. It has all the stuff you need for a DTS 5.1 sound system but it is still poorly designed. The most frustrating thing about it is that if you want to enjoy your music on more than just the 2 front speakers...too bad. I was in shock when after talking to HK (after being on hold for over an hour) that there was no way to fix it to play at least 4 speakers for CD playback. That is such an important and desired feature, I was very upset when learning this. Another problem is that it is not user friendly at all. I am rather familiar with stereo equipment and had a frustrating time setting up the 5.1 system as far as the volume for each speaker would recieve. The only plus about this item is the backlit remote control and the sleek design of the actual receiver. Other than that, keep your money and go get MUCH more for your dollar with a different amp.
