I purchased this unit because I just got a Dolby digital DSS system.I was somewhat confused by all the jacks on the back of this unit. All the inputs and outputs were twice as many as my old Pro-logic reciever. I soon decided to just sit down and read the manual slowly to figure it all out. As with most manuals it didn't have instructions for hooking up the equiptment that I wanted to hook-up together. I have two vcr's and four inputs on my tv so it took some time for me to figure out how I wanted this system to work. It now is hooked up and I very happy with the result. The dolby sound is great and the other features work well. My only complaints are, as with all this types of units, the display graphics are hard to see from across the room. The print is not big enough to see.The main speaker posts are also very hard too use, they are twist type connectors that you have to put the wire in and screw tight, difficult with so many wires and not much finger room to work with. The digital optical cable could be included with the unit instead of having to pay an extra $40. for it. Overall I think this unit was well worth the money and should last til the next new wave of technolgly comes along.
