anon7070's Full Review: Polk Audio CS1000P Speaker
I bought this center channel speaker as part of Polk's RT5000 Home Theater System. It was a clearance type deal through Circuit City. The whole system sounded good in the sound room, but my superior electronics at home with the correct tuning made this system sound its best. The center channel itself is made up of 5 drivers: Two 6.5" powered subs. Two 6.5" mid/high drivers. One 1" tweeter. The two mid/high drivers are crossed over at different frequencies to provide superb horizontal imaging. Granted the built in subwoofer is unnecessary if a LFE channel is used, it still takes a bearing off of your amplifier. All the drivers are matched with the front and rear speakers for seamless imaging. If you have a high current receiver/amplifier as well as the matching speakers, your home theater experience will rival your corner ciniplex.
