| Morse6813's Full Review: Aiwa NSX-MA845 CD Shelf System |
I would consider this model a mini home theater system.I was originally looking to buy a surround sound system, for watching television, when I saw the prices, I realized, that I would have to save quite a bit more than I had already.
While browsing through the stereo section I saw this beauty of a stereo, "it is very handsome"
My first question to the sales person was, can I hook this up to my television to create surround sound? His answer was Yes, I smiled this greedy little smile as thoughts of Stereo,TV,CD, surround sound, double cassette and remote control came all in one package, at half the price of the surround systems for the television.
I quickly told him to pack it up. Happily I took it home and remembered dreading the instruction manual,I was however determined to assemble this mega system do or die. Surprisingly, it wasn't that complicated to figure out, the manual is very perscise.
Here are some of the features,
CD:3disk opens and closes with remote or pressing the button on the unit, a button to switch the CD's around. When you open Cd tray, you'll see CD 1&2-press button, and you'll see 2&3 and so on.
There is a program to edit tracks for listening or taping.
Double cassette operates independently and together.
The greatest feature is that you can operate tape deck 1&2 via remote, even recording via remote.
Surround sound is hooked up into my vcr, turn on tv and vcr and cable press aux button and you've got (DSP = digital signal processor) Surround sound theater,
5 speakers total- (2) rear, (1) center, (2) main floor w/ subwoofer system.
Graphic equalizer includes: rock, pop, latin, classic and jazz.
Also bass level adjust button, and bbe system button-enhances the clarity of high freq sound.
Oh did I forget the karaoke feature, which has become one of Aiwa's trademark with their stereo systems. Fantastic duel mic jacks, earphone jack, adjustable vocal fade, mic volume, echo volume, need I go on. I did notice one thing I wasn't too crazy about,
That is that if your looking to make master mixes on cassette tapes, the switching back and forth between tape decks is not smooth, or I may just need more experience with this area. I love this system.
