| Diznik's Full Review: Sony MHC-MC3AV Shelf System |
When I first moved to PA I needed an inexpensive stereo, but I wanted the best quality I could get for the buck. I went to several different stores and listened to dozens of different systems before I decided on the Sony. It is by far the best system in it's price range.
The first thing that stands out is the quality of the sound. Very crisp and clear with a loudness option that increases the volume and the bass. The surround sound option is my personal favorite. It is almost like you are attending a concert and when connected to a VCR, videos become more like movies, with the sounds coming from all angles. The only thing lacking is the fact that you have to choose from pre-set equalizer options.
The next feature that clearly separates the Sony from the rest of the pack is that it holds 51 cds! You will never have to change out cds, well almost never. The cd player has all of the usual features, including a pre program play list and a random play list. Of course, there are two cassette decks, and a fully programmable am/fm radio that stores up to 20 pre-set stations.
The whole system is very compact and takes up very little space. It comes with a remote control and 20' speaker wire for the satellite speakers. If you are looking for an inexpensive stereo that has all the capabilities of much larger systems, I recommend this stereo.
