Pros: Can be heard at the courtyard of my Quad CLEARLY from four floors up.
Cons: The CD labeling system is a fixed system, meaning that unless it is digitized on the cd, you must keep the cd where it is except for the Plus One. Also no manual EQ.

| parradox's Full Review: Sony MHC-MC3AV Shelf System |
About two weeks before college began, I decided that I wanted a truly bumpin' stereo system. I went shopping with several things in mind. First I knew that I wanted something that can hold a serious amount of CD's. Second, I wanted it to sound good. Last, it couldn't cost too much due to the fact that I had to buy books. SO, I decided to shop around. The Sony MHC-MC3AV caught my eye for several reasons. The first was because it was really cool looking. The second was that it could hold 50+1 CD's. When I saw this, I thought that I could never afford it, but I was WRONG!! The price for all that was offered is very reasonable. I mean this system was everything I wanted. The full logic remote was a definite bonus. As far as sound quality, I have taken it to the full range from Hip-Hop to Classical with everything sounding pretty good (no I am not tone deaf). The surround sound is tough to tweak until you're certain where you want the smaller speakers, but when you do, the hits on the movie "The Waterboy" have never sounded more painful!! The only thing that I wish it had was an ability to recognize CD's so that you can remove CD's and not worry about where it belongs on the carousel. It actually does this with some CD's that have that info digitized into it. With that kind of CD, it even provides you with the title of the TRACK that you're playing. I also wouldn't mind a manual EQ, but the built in files that they have provide good enough variety.
I definitely recommend this to parents in the upcoming holiday season, and people in small apartments or dorms (like me).
