I work at a vcr/dvd repair shop and I have noticed one thing about Sony products, they don't have sony parts! As amazing as that sounds, it is true. It is sad but true, and also, no matter what brand you bought, if you bought it for under $300, then it will probably need repairing within the next year, and by then, the six month warranty that they sucker you into buying will have already expired. If you want a cheap vcr for the kids, then go buy a Toshiba or JVC, but definatley not Sony. Even though they have a big company, does not mean that they make long-lasting products, because they don't. Since, the DVD is so hot, why not just buy a cheap DVD player for the same price and the quality is much better.
