Ya have to first know that there is a thing called DVD, but that is nothing in this day, because DVD is new. For the warm comforting picture that Sony gives off, not like Toshiba a sharp bright picture , its just in credible for recording off the cable channels and saving alot of money. Recording movies is a hobby these days and if ya really want to make it all easy and even to see pictures in true life and have a good time watching Sony is the brand and this model is a full privledged setup for anything your expecting. There is alot to video recorders including - video and more, there's is alot to what all is coming out new. But as in Vcr's there is a art to making the most conveinant machine and this is your look forward to. Hope ya can enjoy investing but this deal you have to try for the reaon there forever and always will be around maybe a 8 track I think not but is always man's second best freind and this sony and all other Sony models are the thing to check out without changing your mind.
