The Bottom Line: It was and still is the best MD player/recorder on the market. Full of features and is very easy to use. Cool and convenient.

Typical Japanese engineering...tiny, compact, and cool. Two years ago, I was one of the few who owned or knew what an MD player was! This player has been a great investment, I can say for certain that is much better looking than other players by Sony or Sharp and it has one of a kind features. For example, the bright Hawaiian water blue LCD display lights up for playing during the day OR NIGHT. The remote also lights up as well and allows for convenient player control. DSL bass has three settings (off, 1,2,3) which enhances sound through headphones or speakers. The jog shuttle controls volume from 0 - 20 and is also used for disc editing and recording functions like dividing, combining, erasing tracks...etc. For you CD fans, this MD player is equipped with 40 sec ESP shock, so you could essentially drop this thing if you wanted (but you shouldn't) and it wont skip. The player comes with a nice velvety bag/pouch thing so you can keep the silver surface smooth and clean. Everyone also loves the swoop design headphones that come with this, so don't waste your money buying those Sony ones that everyone has now! Operates on a lithium battery that lasts for approximately 6-8 hours per charge..which is decent. However, in my two years of ownership I have not had to buy a new battery, so long term life is not a problem. In general, this thing is fully loaded but is easy as pie to learn to use.
