| REDDEVILP's Full Review: Sharp MD-MS722 Personal MiniDisc Player |
Everyone knows Sharp. A great company with great products. Well the Sharp Md-MS722 is no different. I've had mine for about 8 months now and have had no problems with it. And believe me I give mine plenty of use. It still works great that meaning, the recordings are same quality as the day I first opened it and the playback definitely hasn’t gotten worst. And all this is considering that I've dropped it several times, and it actually got dragged on the floor for bout half a block, until I finally noticed that my headphones were coming off (fell out of my pocket).
This little guy is packed full of features. I know that it has more then some of those more expensive non-portable versions. For example an optical line input for digital recording (it comes with the cable). But for those of us that don’t have a sound card with an optical output then you can always pick up a simple in/out cable for about $5 at a Radio Shack.
Other features Name Stamping your MD's, which is very simple with the jog wheel, takes you almost no time. The threes the different base levels, moving tracks, deleting cutting dividing, what ever you can thick off it probably has. Also one good thing is that it has a simple slide in design, where threes no popping open the lid in order to put in the MD, this reduces the amount of moving parts so that the player lasts longer. Also it comes with a remote control and headphones, now naturally the headphones aren’t top quality, but I still use them and they work fine. Same for the remote.
The cons
Now every product has its cons, this one I can only find one, that it that’s its larger then most other MD's, especially the Sony ones (there's are about 3/4 as thick as this on). That’s pretty much it, well ok maybe there’s more than that but it applies to all MD's. The disks are more expensive the write-able CD's, but they are re-writable so I guess that the reason.
Tats pretty much it, and I highly recommend this product. When I was on the hunt to by an MD player, I did my research and this was the best one. I knew it was going to be a sharp, but the reason I chose this particular one was because of the look, the jog wheel makes it look kind of cool.
