The Bottom Line: Stick with Sony or another well known brand.

I wrote a review here a couple of years ago extolling the virtues of this device, but now find myself on the other side of the fence. Recently it developed a defect outside of the regular wear and tear that units like these experience. After doing some research on the 'net I found lots of other people who had experienced the same thing as I had: the dreaded UTOC error. The upswing of all this research is this: Sharp has made a defective product and still hasn't worked all the bugs out of its devices yet. Avoid Sharp and stick with Sony or another equally well known manufacturer.
