This is definitely one of the best portable minidisc players on the market in terms of sound quality and construction. I bought this because I have a CD/MD system and wanted something to use in my car and when I'm working out.
I have used it many times and love it each time that I take it out. This product will not skip, I've went into my backyard with it in my pocket and played basketball and had no problem. The size is unbelievable, in no exaggeration it is the same size as a jewel case for a minidisc, which is just a little bigger than the minidisc itself.
The best features about the MZ-E55 are the 40 second anti-skip, 3 switch bass, slick style remote with backlit LCD, and battery life. I'm sure you can find a MD player with longer battery life, but none of them will be this small. The backlit remote is great and can be seen in low light no problem. Magnesium body cast is very sturdy and the player is made very well.
One drawback to the package is the headphones, they are small and fold up which makes them nice. But the cord is way too short, I went out and bought a similar style with a longer cord. Its nice to have the player in your pocket and just the remote clipped to your pocket.
If you are looking for a great sound, lasting battery life, and small size this is the player for you. It is very clean looking, I have the blue which appears black. I just can't say enough good things about this product. I went to www.supremevideo.com and found it for $139.99 which is a great price.
