Unlike the MZR-55, the 91 is sleek and stylish. It is smaller and more efficient than the MZR-55. The battery lasts 25 hours or longer with a single AA battery and NiMh rechargeable battery.
I bought the 91 because it looked unique and was efficient.
I brought it to school only to have a crowd of people around to be awed. The stylish oval LCD and the smooth carbon like metal gave the 91 a shiny look. Every time I ejected the MD, from the 91, it opened with a bang. The MD popped out as soon as I touched the eject switch. In the 55's case, I had to pull the disc out after I pushed the eject button.
The good part with the MZR-91 is that it is stylish, sleek, and glossy. The battery adapter takes only 1 AA battery, instead of 2 AA battery for the 55. Also, I like the size of the 91. Put two MDs, inside its case, on top of each other. Two MD cases piled up is the size of the 91. How big is it? Well, it is big as a whole MD! Therefore, the 91 is thinner and smaller than the 55! The remote is transparent and only 1/4" thin! The 55 had the bulky cylinder shaped remote.
The only bad part is that it takes a long time to name a song since it does not have a jog dial. Also, it boots up a half or full second slower than the 55. In addition, it does not have a digital optical cable or analog cable to use to record off an audio source. However, the drawback is negligible because the battery seems to last forever on a single charge at least two to three times longer than the 55!
Ok, the box have the unit itself, the thin transparent remote, 1 rechargeable NiMh battery, a 3V AC adapter, a pouch for the unit, and 1AA battery adapter. The box is very small with a whole package in one!
Any teens will appreciate its stylish look. The athlete will take the 91's long battery life. Business executives will listen to MDs with ease from their shirt pockets(since it is so small) without a skip. The 91 worth getting for because the battery lasts longer and it is a lot smaller than the MZR-55!
