| BryRrose's Full Review: Comcast |
I guess you could say that I have had it up to my ears with Comcast. They would not be my first choice in Cable Television providers. Unfortunately there are two reasons why I have Comcast.
#1 - I inherited Comcast from my last cable company when they were taken over by Comcast about a year and half ago. If I could give back my inheritance I would.
#2 - In my city whatever company buys out the cable company, has a monopoly! There is no other company to compete with the Cable Provider in my city. Thus, high prices and lack of customer care.
A few months ago, Comcast was taken over by ATT Broadband. But the problems I am having, I BLAME on Comcast. The policies of ATT Broadband have not really been implemented at my local Comcast...so I still continue to blame Comcast for poor customer service.
PROS
In all honesty, I have not had a lot of problems with my service connection. I have not lost a cable connection in months. In fact, I cannot remember the last time I wasn't able to watch television because the cable went out.
That is really all I have good to say about Comcast.
CONS
•Cost - I pay $40.00 per month and I don't even have the movie channels, like HBO and Cinemax. My service connection is $34.95 then I have to pay rent on my converter, remote control rental (now isn't that ridiculous?), taxes and regulatory fees.
•Customer Service - I feel that Comcast lacks in Customer Service. The hold time on the telephone is ridiculous. I find that I have to wait on hold for 15 minutes to 30 minutes. I usually get someone that is nice and you think that they are going to help you. Nope! You usually have to call back to double check to see if your problem has been fixed.
Recently I canceled my cable because I am moving and my new address is not in their data system. I was surprised the other morning when I received a call back from someone at Comcast. I thought it was going to be about my other issue. Was I surprised when they wanted to inquire as to why I has canceled my cable. Hmmmm! Why do they care so much?
I say this because I have been trying for 4 months to get my new address added to their system. We are moving into a brand new subdivision, it has never had cable service. Since my internet connection is a cable modem, I thought I better start early with the process of adding my address to the system. I thought that four months would be enough time to add my address to their system and when I moved to my new neighborhood, I would have cable. I called and they said they would call back a let me know the status. Long story short to this date and 20+ telephone calls later, I have yet to hear from someone at Comcast about the status of my inquiry.
Since, Comcast has recently been taken over by ATT Broadband, I decided to e-mail them. I drafted my e-mail and sent it out at 3:00pm and at 8:30am the next morning I received a call back from the assistant to the CEO.
Thankfully, ATT Broadband cares a little more about customer service than Comcast does. I blame all my problems on Comcast because they have not been affiliated with ATT Broadband long enough and my problems started when they were Comcast.
When my street does get added to the system I will be thankful that it is ATT Broadband and not Comcast.
