I have been a subscriber of Cox Cable for the last five years. I have been very happy with their service. I have not had many problems with their services. Yes, their has been outages in the past, but they have been handled quickly. This past summer the outages became extreme, but I later learned that they were having problems due to an upgrade of the area to Cox Digital Cable. In September, I received my Digital Converter, and today I received a call that I would be getting 15 additional channels at no additional costs. In fact, my monthly bill would go down.
Under my old service, their was only 1 HBO, 1 Showtime, and 1 TMC. Now I have 6 HBO's, 4 Showtime's and 2 TMC's. I also had 6 Discovery channels added to my line up. I am an avid television watcher and having these extra channels will certainly make my viewing more enjoyable. Another new feature of the Cox Cable service is 45 channels that play only music. Each channel plays a different type of music, and if you connect to your stereo, you can turn the television off and just enjoy the music.
In the last few months since all the upgrades, it has been extremely difficult to get through customer service. However, when I do they are always extremely helpful. In fact, when I complained about the outages three months ago, I was given a free two weeks worth of service, and it came through with no problems. On the following month's bill, their indeed was a credit. They were also helpful when I had problems with a pay-per-view boxing match I order last year. When I told them I had problems with the reception, they took the event off my bill. The problem was slight, but I still got a 50 dollar fight for free.
With the addition of new channels in the last few months and the promise of additional channels to come in the future I would highly recommend Cox Communications for your cable service. The wave of the future is Digital and Cox Cable is right in front of the pack. All this is and you get your local channels too. What a bargain.
