AIG Great Price BUT A BIG HEADACHE

Pros: Great rates & Friendly service AT FIRST!
Cons: BILLS not mailed, Payments not applied when received, Impossible to get errors corrected.
The Bottom Line: After all they've put me through I can't imagine what would happen if I had to file a claim with them! I, the queen of cheap would rather pay more!

After the first year my policy did go up and Geico could beat them but I called AIG and they made some changes and were comparable to Geico and friendlier so I stayed with them.
They have done sooo many things to me it's impossible to put it all down unless you want to read a novel. So I'll try to summarize it.
- they never send me bills
- they have never sent me an overdue notice
- due to a miss communication from the rep and a missed bill I have paid my bill late.
- they said that because my payment was not receive by the 23rd they had to cancel me.
-AIG said my payment wasn't received until the 28th
-My bank said the payment got there by the 21st
-AIG canceled me on the 23rd.
-AIG cashed my check on the 22nd!!!!!
Now that's just when it processed the back of the check shows they stamped it on the 20th and sent it to their bank on the 21st.
I did not know this information when I had t beg for reinstatement (I had to beg because they canceled me earlier in the year for another mix-up see below). LONG story short --I finally got a rep that agreed that the first one shouldn't be held against and reinstated me.
BUT......
since my payment was already being sent back to me they had to collect another payment from me using my debit card and I would be getting my check in the next week.
So I let them take the money out. I put off some things and switched money around while I waited for the check. NOW they said there is no check they applied it to my account. the sup. I talked said I was never told that I'd be getting a check. I faxed him a copy of my canceled payment because he wanted proof that they took that payment unnecessarily and he never called me back. I contacted AIG again today and they say I should talk to him but he's not in.
I've never been canceled by an insurance company for any reason--I pay my bills on time all the time! I have a perfect driving record and a great credit score. I can solve any problems I have with a company--I'm very persistent! I've talked with AIG for hours now and have gotten nowhere! They don't think I'm telling the truth and are treating me like dirt. As soon as I get my money back I'm switching companies.
(((Earlier in the year on my 6 month renewal they did not send me a renewal bill (and I had the months mixed up and stupidly thought I had another month) but when I didn't pay on time they did not send me a cancellation notice either---only a notice that I had been canceled! And at that point they won't take you back they treat you like you're no good. Which you probably think I deserved by not paying my bill on time but let me tell you this: I am anal about paying my bills, yes we've had to juggle at times but I'm very worried about my credit score and making sure I'm in good standing. At first I thought I must have flaked and not seen the bill and the late notice they said they sent but I went through all of my old mail and files---NOTHING was ever sent--I'm not crazy. So an understanding supervisor apologized and reinstated me.)))
