Pros: I didn't end up using them for my insurance carrier
Cons: bad customer service, didn't meet quoted rate
The Bottom Line: Very poor customer service/care, I couldn't consciously recommend them to anyone for even a simple quote!

| manky's Full Review: Allstate - Auto |
When my insurance renewal time came around this year, I looked around for quotes. Mostly using the internet and worthy quote sites, I came across many different quotes at a wide variety of prices.
Allstate was the best rate available with a company that has a local office in my town, so I went to them for my insurance.
I was in contact with the agent through e-mail. I gave him all of my phone numbers, yet he never once called me. When I did call him to catch up on how the process was working he talked me through some different options and had even lowered the original quote of $525 down to "probably $475" since in his opinion, someone with as few assets as myself, wouldn't need such excessive coverage.
A couple more weeks went by, and I had heard nothing back from the agent again. The day before my original insurance plan was to lapse, I called to find out how and when I could or should pay them. The agent was not in, so I left a message noting the extreme importance that I talk to him right away.
I never received a call, mind you this man has been given all of my phone numbers: home, work, cell, etc. So at 4pm, I called again. The agent then decides to tell me that because I have one ticket on my record, he can't get me the rate he had quoted me. Mind you, that ticket (amongst two others, which have expired from my record) were claimed in any and every form I filled out for insurance quotes! Yet suddenly, 1 hour before the end of the business day, the day my insurance expires... this man tells me he can't insure me as quoted. He jumped from $525.. (actually "maybe $475) to $1200 for only 6 months.
I understand he can't change Allstate's regulations, but he should have been more careful looking over my information in the beginning. He should have notified me immediately upon finding that information... not ignoring until I called an hour before my insurance lapsed.
