| ziggers86's Full Review: Road Rash for Nintendo 64 |
Road Rash is one of the most politically incorrect racing games ever. That having been said, I can now say just how great this game is. You start the game out on a rather crummy bike with absolutely no friends.
You have to win a few races (with the help of weapons) and, eventually, you will be asked to join a gang. After you are in a gang, the real fun begins. The gang will give you a weapon to start with (usually a fun one like a cattle prodder) and you can take it from there. If you protect your gang members, they will protect you.
There's also those cops, who aer always trying to bust you for your latest crime. The cops are very hard to defeat with a weapon, but it can be done. If you don't succeed, though, the cops will bust you and you won't be finishing that race.
Why do you want to finish that race? Because you get money for each race that you win or place well in. That money can be used to buy bikes and pay your way into gangs.
This game, at first, seems quite large. There are a lot of things that you have to do each race, and there are a lot of races that you must win. However, there are unlimited continues! (You start where you last save.) This makes the game a lot easier to beat. But it isn't a huge deal. I beat this game just when I rented it, but I still bought it, because it is a lot of fun. But, if you don't like sweet weapons and gangs, this game will get old quickly.
