dna13's Full Review: NBA Live 99 for PlayStation 1
One of my favorite games to play is EA Sport's NBA Live Series and Live 99 is one of the best in that series. It is a great simulation basketball game. You have access to all the moves; the cross-over, the spin, the fade-away jumper, all of it. You can set your plays up by various button combination or you can just go man-to-man. The graphics are pretty smooth, you set instance replay and camera angles. You can basically control everything in this game, the difficulty, the teams, the players, and the contact. Create your own super team of players. Make mismatches like a seven-foot point guard.
You can play with the no-holds barred arcade style or the simulation. There is almost every option available. There's even a 3-point shootout.
The only drawback is the lack of rookie players because of the NBA Lockout but you can just create them yourself. Play the season by yourself or challenge a friend. Or challenge a group of friends, NBA live supports up to eight players just get two multi-taps and you can have a true team competition.
