| jeanninep4's Full Review: White Sewing 1766 Mechanical Sewing Machine |
I have had my White Sewing machine for about a year now and have enjoyed every minute of working with it.
It is a very basic sewing machine without many frills. But it gets the job done. I use the machine mainly for crafts and home decor. The machine has made many patchwork quilts, an entire house full of curtains fleece blankets and scarves.
I have had some problems getting the tension to adjust correctly on heavy fabrics such as fleece, but through some "tweeking" I finally got it right. It does also seem to need alot of oil to keep it running smoothly. It is a relatively quite machine until it needs oil, you can always tell because it starts to make a kind of grinding noise.
There is several different stitches on the machine, most of them zig zag but there is also a "edge finisher" which is what I put on the fleece blankets and scarves.
I recently taught myself how to do a bottonhole on this machine, and I am here to tell you, it was one of the easiest things to do---even for me!
I would recommend this machine for anybody that wants a good basic model that is not real expensive. It has gotten the job done for me!
