Part 1 of the Mighty Adventures of Bob.
Bob rolled over in bed and mashed down on the alarm button. Another day had begun the same way all his days began: with the constant high pitched chirp of his alarm. He climbed out of bed and headed to the shower. He knew in a matter of minutes hed face the single worst part of his day. Hed have no choice but to finish the job if he was to make it to work on time. Why couldnt he have a wife to do this for him?
No, Bob knew hed have to do the ironing. It took the most time in the morning and he dreaded every single minute of it. But that was about to change. Bob had just purchased a T-Fal Ultraglide Plus 1656. His other iron had shattered into pieces when he slammed it up against the wall.
He needed another and this time chose the T-Fal 1656 right away because of the sleek design and the beautiful blue water tank. The shiny white plastic and smooth ultraglide surface were the catalyst for love. Then Bob saw the price. Under $40 for a fancy French iron? He couldnt go wrong.
After his shower, Bob opened the box and started to fill the reservoir with distilled water. To his surprise he didnt need distilled water. The T-Fal would use regular tap water.
He placed his pants on the board and tilted the iron down. Within seconds, the water was hot and producing steam. The steam automatically emitted from the soleplate. And the easy adjustable steam lever was just a thumb away. Bob had enormous control over the steam.
The Ultraglide soleplate allowed the iron to glide across his pants. Its smooth surface allowing for easy ironing. Oh, how his heart grew in size for this iron each time he passed it up the pants legs.
A flaw! No, there couldnt be. Bob saw a huge crease in the pants leg. Had the iron done this? No, it was probably his lousy ironing. But how would he get the crease out. As he caressed the iron, Bob fingered the steam button on top. Instantly a blast of steam fired from the bottom of the iron, eradicating the crease.
He knew he had touched the irons special place. The only other place more sensitive on the iron was the water spray button. A slight depress of this button and a spray of water would spew out directly ahead of the iron.
Bob had finished his pants with easy and great speed. This iron was truly the greatest he had ever touched. As he walked away from the iron, he knew it was time to introduce it to his parents. They had to see its curves, it burning passion, and its long cord.
It was as he was walking out the door that he realized he had left the iron on. He raced to its side. He found it sitting up, but it was off. The three-way shut-off timer had allowed the iron to turn off and saved his home from burning down. The iron which he loved had saved the day. He grabbed the iron and squeezed it. He whispered into its water tank, I love you. I love you.
Bob returned the iron to the sitting position and walked out the door. He couldnt wait to iron tomorrow morning. No, he couldnt wait. As he turning the key in the ignition of his car he had one thought, Who needed a wife, when you have the T-Fal Ultraglide.
