I watch Popular. It's really interesting because it's something we can all learn from and relate to. It's about two total strangers, Brooke and Sam, who live together and hate each other's guts! How is that even possible?? Well Brooke's dad and Sam's mom are dating. So they decided to live with each other and let their daughters "socialize". Neither knew that that descision would mark a stain in each of the girls' life. Sure, they get along once in awhile but most of the time they simply throw each other dagger looks or very angry glares. And you don't have to be a genius to see that they DON'T get along. Here's another reason why they can't get along:
*** BROOKE MC QUEEN****** She's pretty, popular, the eye of the guys and really hates that Sam Mc Pherson. She's part of the "populars", a clique consisting of the "cool", snobby girls. But Brooke's NOT bad. She's nice to the so-called "lesser individuals". Especially Carmen Ferrera. Carmen's a smart, sweet girl with only one major flaw. She's quite fat. But that didn't stop her from pursuing a dream and following her soul's passion. Her passion was dancing. For years, she's been trying to get into the cheerleading squad but they wouldn't accept her for her weight & because she was one of the losers. Brooke Mc Queen has always had a heart for Carmen, though.
****** SAM MC PHERSON ******** She's pretty, yet unpopular. She hangs out with the losers. Her bestfriends and only friends are unpopular as well. She hates Brooke Mc Queen alot! She misses her dead father and she tries to find love. Sometimes she's unsuccesful but she keeps going no matter what.
Popular helped me alot. I choose to describe myself as Carmen Ferrera. WHY? Because no matter what she remains strong even though people TRY to put her down. Alot of people make fun of me, but that doesn't drown my mood nor my happiness. The lessons that Popular tries to express are very inspiring and motivating. I think that the main lesson it's trying to bring out though, is don't be afraid of yourself or your individuality. You are who you are because of God.
