A taste of Old Napa - but not in the good sense

My family stayed at Silverado in late March for two nights. We "bought" our stay at a charity auction and understood going in that we would be staying in someone's condo on the property.
We were disappointed with our visit there and will not be returning. Given the explosion of high end hotels in both Napa and Sonoma, your money is better spent elsewhere. Let me explain...
1. The check in process was unorganized and immediately set a bad impression. The clerk did not have our reservation (even though I had a printed confirmation), and we had to wait for our keys.
2. The room itself was spacious and sufficient for our needs (I came with my 2 kids, wife, and mother in law). It had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room and a small kitchen. As mentioned, we knew that we would be staying in someone's condo; what we didn't know was that most of the rooms there are private condos. Therefore, the feeling was more of being at a collection of private residences rather than a hotel with an integrated look and feel. It certainly did not have a luxurious point of view that you would find at other Napa resorts (Carneros Inn, Meadowood, etc.). I should also add that the rates for our room were ~$450 / night, far more than I would expect.
3. The bar is atrocious. We expected a full range of Napa Valley wines by the glass - what they offered was what you might find at a TGI Fridays. And the feel was a far cry from the "elegance in the heart of the Napa Valley" that the website suggests.
The rest of the facilities - the pool, the golf course - were adequate. And its proximity to some interesting wineries, particularly Reynolds Family Vineyards, is attractive.
