| mbmattson's Full Review: Monte Carlo Resort And Casino |
My Husband and I just got back from a Spring Break trip to Las Vegas. What a great time! We researched many of the Vegas hotels on the internet before booking our stay and we ended up at the Monte Carlo hotel. We are so glad we did. We waited a bit late to book our hotel stay, so some of the Vegas hotels were booked already. The Monte Carlo actually had a discounted rate for the 4 days we were wanting to stay. Our room was normally $300 a night, but we got it for about $150 a night. Not bad considering the cost of other hotels in the area. We booked our 4 day reservation on-line and they will send you a confirmation email. It was very easy to do. You can also check day and rate availability on-line instead of calling.
On the Monte Carlo webpage, the hotel looked gorgeous..but will it appear in real life as it did on the screen? Probably not, especially with the low cost. We got to our hotel on a Friday afternoon and it was everything we dreamed of and more. Just beautiful inside and out. The Monte Carlo is right on the Las Vegas Strip near New York New York and the Bellagio. We took a cab to the hotel from the airport, so I am not sure about the availability of parking. It is much easier to walk, take a cab, or a tram while in Las Vegas.
The Monte Carlo has many things to offer tourists. Some include:
* a full spa and beauty salon
* 90,000 square foot casino (huge!!). It is well laid out and they have many slot machines for those who don't want to spend (lose) a lot. It can get very crowded. I was in the casino at 4:30am and it was still packed.
* tons of restaurants and a great brewery. I would recommend the Monte Carlo buffet. We had the Sunday brunch with champagne and it was delicious. The Cafe is also a decent place to eat for a quick breakfast if you aren't in the mood for a large buffet. They also have fast foods, such as Mcdonalds and Sparros.
* 6 pools outdoors
* shows by Lance Burton the magician. Tickets are around $60.
* over 3000 rooms
* Reebok health club (but $17 just to visit)
* many shops where you can buy practically anything such as designer sunglasses, expensive jewelry, kids clothing, cigars, Vegas logo items, shoes, books on gambling, etc.
* wedding services and flower shop
* tennis courts
etc..
The rooms are pretty plain, but still nice enough. All you do is stop in to sleep, right? Our room faced the Strip and the view was awesome. Room service is very good and you pretty much don't need to leave the hotel for purchases. They even have a sort of grocery store that has fresh fruit and other necessities that you don't expect in a hotel. It isn't cheap, but very convenient. I like how the Monte Carlo offered express checkout since we had a 7am flight. They also offer the convenience of billing all your hotel purchases to your room, such as meals, shop items, drinks, etc. I would definitely recommend the Monte Carlo to visitors in Vegas. It is well worth the money and right in the middle of all the action.
