...I hate to admit it, but I think the writing is pretty good. While I'm not much interested in the subject of most of the articles, I do think they are well-written. So given a choice between People and say, Field and Stream or a 3-year-old LHJ in the waiting room, I'll go for People.

I know about them! Funny thing, I just bought a copy of People today, and then I found your great review! I totally agree with you on your thoughts about this magazine. For me it is great for airplane flights, dentist offices, and the hair salon.

that's an awfully old picture of Bruce Willis!
It's a great mag for the beauty parlor. I buy this once or twice a year when I have to fly with the kids (can't read serious stuff when dealing with them). Other than that I read it when getting the hair done.
I've never had a root canal but I'll take your word on that.
