Teen Magazine - Reality or not?

Pros: Great Advice, Tips, and Real Life Stories and Celebrity info, pictures, etc
Cons: Anorexic models, and Teen thinks that we all have money growing on tree's.
The Bottom Line: Its a fun magazine for teenagers. It is something I read every month all month and I'm happy whenever I do read it! Try it out, you won't be disappointed!

I am a faithful subscriber to Teen magazine. For only 10 bucks a year I figure how can I go wrong? And so far I haven't. I enjoy receiving Teen every month. But also the con's almost even out the pro's. Some great con's - The great advice pages. They are realistic and I have been able to relate to some girls problems more than once.They have some killer bargain pages on where to find great products for cheaper, Great fashion and makeup advice that I use a lot. There is also great Celebrity information and pictures as well as CD and Movie reviews.
But there is always a down side to such a great thing. Sad I know, but as I said, the Con's do even out the Pro's. It starts with WAY too many advertisements. It always seems like you just keep flipping and flipping to get to a good part of the magazine. And while Teen try's not to make girls feel like they have to wear a size 2, have perfect skin, gorgeous hair, great clothes that cost 100 bucks for a shirt, they still give girls a little pressure. Every other page is a model as perfect as can be and it can be very intimidating. Another thing that bothers me is the fact that they think everyone is made of money. They give you great advice for hair and makeup but yet when it comes to the products you need to use to get the great look it will cost you a bundle.
Even though there are a few con's this magazine to me deserves a 4 star rating. Why? Well because its something teen girls love and something I love. It is something we look forward to every month and it makes boredom fade for about an hour. If I had to recommend any magazine to a teen girl I would definitely tell her to get Teen. It has great advice, Great tips, Celebrity info, and much much more stuffed into a 150 page magazine. and you also have to remember this isn't the only magazine with its faults. I think every magazine has room for change. so go to your local grocery store and buy an issue of Teen and see how you like it. Hopefully you aren't disappointed!
