Even though I mentioned in my review of "The Celts" by Enya that I loved her music, I'll say it again, I LOVE HER MUSIC! From the very first song, "Watermark," I sat back, closed my eyes, and imagined myself in a different place. The first song is so beautiful that it nearly brings tears to my eyes. Sad, yet hopeful, like when you break up with someone but don't close yourself forever to love.
Every song has a different mood, and tells a different story. There are strong, heavy songs and light, lilting songs, but always with Enya's flare, whether instrumental or whether she adds her angelic voice, either in English or Gaelic.
This is not music to relax by; although it is relaxing, it is not meant to put you to sleep. I think it is meant to clear your head for thought, for imagining. And that's what I do with it.
I always thought that if my fantasy novel series were to be made into a movie, I would want Enya's music to fill the soundtrack. Enya is the original Celtic and aesthetic musician, and the best.
