you're on point....didn't know about the masters release--that explains alot (Reply to this comment)

I loved this album too...but especially revere it because of how different it was. Although it was unique, I think there are some parallels that could be drawn from this record and a few others, namely Freestyle Fellowship's "Innercity Griots", De La Soul's "Buhloone Mind State", and just about anything by Ultramagnetic or Kool Keith's earlier solo material.
