This 1990 comedy stars Bill Murray, Geena Davis, and Randy Quaid as bank robbers with a very unique plan. They have no trouble robbing a bank and escaping; this is done in the first twenty minutes of the movie. Getting out of New York without getting busted is a whole other story.
Bill Murray masterminds the plan of how to rob the bank: think Bozo the Clown. Geena Davis is his girlfriend, who harbors a big secret through the majority of this film. Randy Quaid is Murray's bumbling sidekick, a friend from grade school. Phil Hartman has a noteworthy small role in one scene that is very memorable.
The three escape the bank in a very intelligent fashion, but getting to the airport to fly to a paradise island just doesn't seem to be possible. Between being accused of stealing from their own apartment to helping a lost guy from Iowa who isn't so lost to fighting with a cabbie who "is a guest" in this country, as Murray's character puts it, you will be rolling on the floor. The antics are great!
I've seen this movie several times on video and cable television and think it's a good laugh. It's a good comedy rental.
