Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie's plot.
Disney’s Aladdin came out in 1992, and it’s considered one of the best Disney films of the 90’s next to the Lion King. There is good reason to it’s got a lot of action and comedy that will thrill kids and adults to. It also some of the finest songs in the Disney library.
The movie.
When the sultan’s evil advisor Jafar wants a magic lamp with a genie in it; he will to anything to get it. Unfortunately the lamp is in the cave of wonder, and its tiger guarding will eat anyone that is not worthy of the lamp’s power. Jafar needs to find a diamond in the rough; that diamond is a street thief named Aladdin. When Aladdin has a run in with Princess Jasmine in the market place he falls in love with her. Unfortunately there is a law that says a Princess must marry a Prince. When Jafar finds out that Aladdin is the diamond in the rough he throws him in the dungeon.
In the dungeon Aladdin meets an odd beggar who tells him about the cave of wonders, and the treasure it contains. Inside the cave of wonders Aladdin finds the lamp; but will it have enough power to change his life, and what about Jafar will he be able to get his dirty mitts on the lamp.
The animation.
While the animation is nothing like newer Disney films like Tarzan; it’s was masterpiece then, and is still probably one of Disney’s greatest works. The color our bright and the animation is smooth. You also have to see the tiger guardian of the cave of wonders, and when Aladdin makes his escape out of the cave of wonders is probably some of the most beautiful Disney animation you will ever find.
The voices.
OK there are two characters, and voices that carry the movie along; at least comically speaking. The first voice is of the Genie; he is played by Robin Williams. Williams does a good job in playing the part of the Genie, and the several voices’ that goes with him. The 2nd voice is of Jafars sidekick parrot Iago. Gibert Godfret plays the voice of Iago. Now has anybody who has ever seen a movie with Gilbert Godfret in it should know his voice is about has pleasant to listen to has nails on a chalkboard. But that’s good Iago is supposed to be loud and annoying; so therefore Gilbert Godfret was born to play that voice. There is also a difference in the jokes that the two do. Genie’s jokes are mostly visual sight gags, meanwhile Iago’s jokes are wise cracks. Another difference is that Iago’s jokes are a lot more cynical.
Disney’s Aladdin ranks up there with the lion king when it comes to Disney’s classic, if you haven’t seen it already you should definitely go out and rent it.
