manky's Full Review: VeggieTales - Josh And The Big Wall!
Plot Details: This opinion reveals major details about the movie's plot.
The VeggieTales are a computer animated videos that integrate biblical lessons with fun songs and stories... All brought to you by your favorite vegetables. In this episode we follow God's Children as they travel through the dessert, and come across a very well guarded city: Jericho.
After the usual theme song, we are greeted by Junior Asparagus and Bob the Tomato. They host us through the story of Josh & The Big Wall, teaching us about doing what God wants, rather than what we want.
Junior & Bob are transported into the story's scenes, as Bob narrates. Everyone is excited about getting to the Promised Land... That is until they meet up with Jericho's Big Wall. A top the wall are mocking Peas who tease and taunt (and even throw their slushies on) the Israelites. My absolute favorite thing about this video is the song "Keep Walking", where Jean Claude and Phillipe (the French Peas) sing to the silly Isrealites as the walk around the city's wall.
In an entertaining interlude Larry presents his multi-media "The Song of The Cebu". No one really knows what a cebu is, but this rhyming concoction Larry came up with help you better understand, and laugh.
Some parents may be weary of showing their children a slushie included version of an Old Testament lesson. However, I've found that most children (with a simple explanatory conversation) can make the break between the two. At the least they will come away with the simple lesson that even when God's way doesn't make a whole lot of sense, it's still the best way.
