Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie's plot.
Many people turn up their noses at subtitled films--but here's one I'd suggest sitting down for!
My younger sister is a student of German and watched half of Run Lola Run in class. She was so curious to find out what happened in the second half that she rented it and had us all watch it with her.
From the get-go we are pulled into the action of this flame-haired young woman's life through the shouting match she has with her boyfriend over the phone. And then she rushes off to try and save him.
The movie's attempt to let us see things through Lola's eyes is very interesting, especially in the beginning, where she's flipping through people in her mind, looking for someone she could get the money from.
The ending[s] are very well crafted and each one is uniquely exciting. I also loved the effect of looking into a passerby's future and seeing how these small decisons affected change.
One of my only complaints is the cartoon segments. they truly annoyed me. This is not surprising, as I have a very low tolerance for 'real' footage being mixed with cartoons, but anyway, that did not appeal to me in the film, perhaps others will find it aesthetically pleasing however.
There were the expected comments from my brother that the lovely star was too flat chested to be in a movie where what she mostly does is run, but this isnt Baywatch, folks, so keep that in mind.
