Plot Details: This opinion reveals major details about the movie''s plot.
I had a coupon to use for a free rental, so I stopped to look for something recently. I found a few movies to rent. One of them was No Good Deed.
Jack Friar was a police officer. He looked for stolen cars. He played the cello in his spare time. He was planning to go to some kind of fantasy camp for musicians. A woman he knew wanted him to look for her daughter that ran off with her boyfriend. Jack said no, but later changed his mind. He had a picture of the girl and her boyfriend. Hed been told they were last seen on Turk street.
Jack talked to people on the street, but had no luck finding them. He was sitting in his car watching the street when he saw an older woman fall when she was carrying groceries into her home. Jack went to help her up, and get the groceries in the house. Mr. and Mrs. Quarre then wanted Jack to say for tea. Jack mentioned that he was a cop looking for someone. He only mentioned the guy at first and hed lost the picture. Some came out of another room and knocked Jack out. When he woke up, he was tied to a chair. Hoop, the man that hit Jack, thought that Jack was looking for him.
Two other people, Erin and Tyrone, were also in the house. They were all planning something and were worried that Jack was after them. They had done whatever they had planned before in other cities. David, a banker, was also involved in what was planned. Tyrone was in charge. There was something going on between Tyrone and Erin. There was also something between Erin and Hoop. Jack saw everyone but Tyrone. Jack closed his eyes every time Tyrone was anywhere around. It was decided that they were going to do what had been planned that day instead of waiting. Tyrone made Erin stay with Jack and everyone else left to carry out their part of the plan. Erin wasnt happy about being left behind. Some kind of connection developed between Erin and Jack.

No Good Deed was released in 2002. The movie is also known as The House on Turk Street. The movie was rated R and 103 minutes long. I never saw any previews for the movie before, so I dont think it was ever released to theaters.
No Good Deed was a thriller, though I have seen better. It was interesting and kept me watching. All the people at the house, plus a banker, were involved in planning some sort of crime. The crime they were planning wasnt anything new, but it was done in a different way. I didnt think that the movie was predictable. There was some suspense in some scenes. There were some scenes that were a bit slower. There was some violence in the movie as well. More than one person turned up dead. The movie will be too violent for some people.
Erin was involved in some sort of relationship with Tyrone. They were affectionate one minute and then he would do something to hurt her. Erin said some things about Tyrone and her relationship with him that made it seem like she wasnt happy. Tyrone wasnt a nice person and he would hurt people to get what he wanted. Erin claimed that she was afraid to leave him. There was something going on between Erin and Hoop as well. Hoop didnt like how Tyrone treated Erin. He wanted her for himself. He was very jealous. As part of the planning for what they were doing, Erin got close to David. That ended up causing more complications. During the time she spent with Jack, Erin acted like she developed feelings for him as well.
There were a few sexual situations in No Good Deed. When Erin first showed up, she was wearing a dress that clearly showed that she was wearing no bra and what kind fo panties she had on. There were some suggestive conversations between some of the characters, including the Quarres. Erin was shown nude briefly in one scene when she left the shower. There was only one sex scene in the movie. It wasnt that explicit, but it did seem like Erin was unwilling.
There was very little character development in No Good Deed. The movie did jump around to show what was going on with the different characters once Erin and Jack were left at the house, but not much was shown about any of them. The characters were mostly flat. The acting from Samuel L. Jackson and Milla Jovovich was good. I thought they were both believable in their parts. Doug Hutchinson, the actor who played Hoop, seemed to do some overacting at times. There really wasnt anything special about any of the acting.
CHARACTERS
Jack - He was a police officer that worked looking for stolen cars. He played the cello. He ended up in a very bad situation because he agreed to do something for a friend. He was smart. He wasnt sure what to think of Erin.
Erin - She was mixed up with Tyrone and involved in what he was planning. There was also something between her and Hoop. She was more devious than she appeared to be. She had her own plans. She was seductive at times, and seemed willing to use her body to get people to do things she wanted.
Hoop - He was working with Tyrone and Erin. Hoop had trouble controlling his temper at times. He wanted Erin for himself and hated how Tyrone treated Erin. Hoop was very jealous when some other man showed interest in Erin.
Quarres - Older married couple mixed up in whatever was going on. They seemed like a nice couple when Jack first met them, but they really werent. They could be nasty, though they didnt seem as mean as Tyrone. They were concerned about their part in the plan and didnt fully trust Tyrone. They did love each other.
David - He was the banker that got involved in the plan. He was very interested in Erin, which is why he got mixed up in the plan. David thought he and Erin would end up together.
No Good Deed was interesting and entertaining even though there were some slow parts. The ending was a little bit of a let down, but the movie was pretty good.
