| lipps66's Full Review: Platte River State Park |
We took a group of kids to camp in the Tee-pees. They are great! A wonderful teaching opportunity for parents to talk about the Native Americans and how they lived. It is also a nice park that has some very difficult biking trails. For those who like it a little more pampered there are very nice cabins that are reasonably priced. There is water available at every turn and if you are a fan of trains one goes by every couple of hours. The only problem with the park is there is that train prohibits the hiker from getting to the river (Platte River). If you are a hiker or biker that likes a challenge there are some great places to "get off the beaten path" and explore. (Just don't let the rangers find out!) There is a great overlook that allows you to see for miles. You can also rent canoes for a nice relaxing trip down the river. There is a nice pool for those who would like to take a dip. (Do not swim in the Platte!)
