Pros: SXGA+ screen, good videocard, 4 USB ports, long battery life, thin and looks great
Cons: no Bluetooth even though promised as an option
The Bottom Line: This is the Centrino Laptop to get!

I just bought this notebook as a powerful workhorse for my studies as well as my work. My criteria was a Centrino laptop with 15" screen with more than XGA (1024x768, because that's too small of a desktop). In addition I looked for a good video card and the Radeon 9000 with dedicated memory beats the Sony Z1a and Dell offerings. I also wanted Bluetooth, but for some reason Acer does not offer Bluetooth integrated into their laptops yet even though it's listed as an option on all US TM800 series Laptops. A call to AcerUSA verified that fact, although most TM800s in Europe come with Bluetooth. The Acer person didn't know why -so now I'm waiting for the integrated Bluetooth module.
I found all the "heat-issues" to be humbug, the HD doesn't get too hot for your hand. I read a lot of reviews where people said that the fan is too loud but in my experience it is never on. The only time i hear the fan is when I first turn the laptop on during POST, when Windows takes over it's off. Occasionally it comes on during movies or games, but in those cases the sound of the application makes it impossible to discern noise from the fan anyway.
The screen is awesome, battery life is great, the whole thing is plenty fast and it's the only laptop I've seen with four USB ports.
I really loved the 3000LMI, but it's not a Centrino.
