cato16's Full Review: American Idol for PlayStation 2
American Idol for Playstation is an absolute riot. This is a great game for a group gathering. We played with a diverse group from ages 7 to 60 and everyone had a great time.
You pick a song and the words are displayed on the bottom of the screen, just like karaoke. You need to hit the note on key and on time. After you complete your song Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell give you their opinion of how well you performed. The comments made by the three of them are what make the game so much fun. Regardless if you are a good singer, or a bad one, you will love this game.
The character graphics leave a bit to be desired, but that may have to do with this being Playstation 2, and not 3. No one in our group minded the graphics.
It also works with the PS Eye or the original Eyetoy(for live video to the background screens) and any standard USB microphone.
One of the best features is having downloadable songs, because you can build up a library of your favorite songs from past versions all on one disc, and not have to drop in and out of a game.
