Good Product - Bad Customer Service

Pros: The dvd player played everything, from mp3, cds, dvd, dvd-r backups, and more.
Cons: The customer service in being able to order replacement parts is horrible.
The Bottom Line: If you're looking for an inexpensive player that will work for you - then this is it. But beware having to fix it if it breaks or you need parts.

I have always loved the Apex electronic products. I have a TV and a DVD player that are Apex. So last Thanksgiving, when they had the PD-450 for sale for $140 - I felt confident in knowing what I was getting. It worked good on my trip to Brazil that Christmas. But on the way home - I had many things out of 1 of my suitcases stolen - including my AC adapter to charge my DVD player - Soon after I contacted Apex to try to get a replacement so that I could still use my DVD player - I even sent them a check in the mail - because at the time they couldn't take a credit card order (this should have been my first clue). Now a year later, after several more repeated attempts to contact and order a replacement AC Adapter - they say that they don't have any to ship and don't know when they'll get some. I tried buying a universal charger - with no success. What kind of company can't supply parts for their products??? I just want to buy an AC adapter so that I can use my DVD player. If anyone knows where I can find one or another alternative - please help - dmfoster@ksu.edu - 620-224-9433
I'm happy to announce that customer service finally came through - I have ordered my replacement ac adapter and am looking forward to using my dvd player again.
For the few months I was able to actually use my dvd player, It worked as well as my set-top apex dvd player. It loaded fast, played mp3s, and played any dvd-r or even mpeg videos that I put on a cd. The remote was sufficient, and the screen was fine. I didn't have any problems or complaints about the product itself - just the customer service and the runaround crap that I kept receiving.
