I personally like the new track pad with scrolling capability. It seems feather sensitive. It's like a fine tuned musical instrument rather than a keyboard. My fingers don't hurt to use this keyboard. It requires little effort. Your fingers just glide across the keys and don't get fatigued from bending. My hands don't go numb. There's less strain on the arm. It lets my creativity flow. I'm a very fast thinker and typist. I don't like crappy keyboards that slow me down. Everything on the market seems to be made of plastic. This keyboard is in a league all its own. This keyboard responds to the slightest touch. It has me spoiled.
The screen is one of the best on the market. The clarity is awesome.
Apple icons enhance your writing pleasure. I've never owned an Apple product before. Macintosh seems more versatile and less boring than windows xp. I think Microsoft products must be designed for creative thinkers. The drop and drag feature is great.
I hooked up my dell monitor yesterday and enjoyed listening to a bee gees DVD while writing on screen another screen.
I'm just learning what this machine can do. I think it's to anyone's advantage to switch. I should have ages ago. I think the Power book G4 will open the gateway to bigger and better things. I don't feel limited on this machine like I did with windows. It's easy to operate and
light enough to carry on business trips.
The pro's definitely out weigh the con's in my opinion.
Cons: The battery life is limited to four hours.
Yesterday my powerbook shut down for not apparent reason. I followed the commands in the book to try to restore power. Nothing worked. The green lights were on to indicate the battery was fully charged. The power cord was in. It was extremely hot to touch. I tried removing the battery and replacing it. The computer still refused to come on. I let it sit overnight. Today I phoned Apple to ask for help. The product support worker took me through the same procedure as the manual. Nothing worked. I was so bummed. All of my writing was stored on the power book. When I turned the unit upside down a few times playing with the battery chamber it came on automatically. Nothing else worked. I still plan to keep it. I love the features of the Power book G4. Nothing else on the market compares. I just question whether this is an early indicator of poor workmanship. I've own a few other laptops. I haven't had this problem with any.
---
I told Apple they need to invent a new line of keyboards for precision and comfort.
So many people work in fields that require using a computer. Many suffer from carpal tunnel. The majority of keyboards sold in the stores today seem like junk. They're all the same. The power book keyboard doesn't irritate my hands. This power book keyboard is in a league all it's own. I told Apple they should sell keyboards like the Power Book G4 to the consumer. Be the first company to invent a series of keyboards designed for therapeutic use. Sure they'd be expensive but well worth it! Doctors could recommend them to patients. The way people love, Internet I think they'd pay any price! A musician wants the best musical instrument. I feel like I got the best writing instrument with the Power book G4. It's so superior to all the rest. It's a pleasure to own this machine.
