| manteyk's Full Review: Bosch WFMC 3200 Front Load Washer |
OK... I was going to cheap out and get a $300-$400 washer a month ago when my Sears died out after 22 yrs. of use. I thought it was fine & sure lasted a long time so why not get a top load? Looked into a lot & people w/ side loads sure liked them a lot. I didn't think too much about saving water & electric either because we are talking $600 more! So I thought about it a while and thought about all the times my clothes come out dirty... grease shadows on shirts etc. (OK I drop food on myself!). Unless I pretreat it never really came out acceptable. And my under shirts get dingy and nasty under the sleeves despite switching to non-staining deodorants! So I thought the heck w/ the $1000, I am going to get it!!! I'm glad I did have some faith, I love it! Clothes are cleaner after 1 wash & getting cleaner w/ more washes (sure they would not get to that state now w/ new clothes). Use the power cycle w/temp boost on whites w/auto bleach (takes 2:40). I put in less detergent (I use standard detergent, but just use less, not HE which creates less suds). This thing is awesome but takes longer, who cares though! Clothes come out much drier too which saves on the electric drying too. I figured this thing would pay for itself in 8 yrs. in energy, water & detergent savings and that again or more on making clothes last longer being cleaner! As a Mechanical Engineer, I picked it over all the others Lowe's had due to the heavier design of the door hinge and I didn't like the slide out detergent fill others had; looks flimsy (Bosch just flips up). Best $1000 spent for sure! Note that if you open a new Lowe's charge account you can save 10%. I did that and used the saving to buy the extended warranty.
