I love my RCA, Pro Edit Video Camcorder. I have loved three of them in this life time, in quick succession. Every time I buy one, however , the love affair ends up all wrong. I realize now that my expectations were too high. Just because it says RCA is no guarantee love will last. Either the picture messes up, you know the one, the focus, or the variable shutter speed. I read the little books that come with them. I try to follow all orders like a good soldier. But, it always ends up the same way. After a couple of years, maybe even six or seven months, no useable camera. No one, to fix the camera. I bought all of my camcorders from Sears, and have taken all of them back for service several or more times. Sears can never seem to fix my cameras. For whatever reason they can not get it right. Maybe if the manuals were clearer. I have paid hefty prices for all of my camcorders. They do not come cheaply. But, invariably either the "fading in and out of scenes " mechanism fails, the flying erase head flies away, or zooming, both power and manual fail. I am in constant turmoil because of these loses. I suffered true drama because of these experiences. not to mention camera withdrawal. I do not think that I will buy another RCA camcorder. The heartache is too great. The memories are too painful. Sears charges too much for an estimate. When I think of what my camera used to be. So vibrant, so accurate, displaying the time in the viewfinder, edit searching, all of it. It could do all of it. But only for a short, short time. I'll go on. I am sure. I'll find another camcorder. But I'll always remember the love I lost, not to mention the money I've paid for three RCA camcorders.
