My New 05 BMW 325ci

Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Acceleration(with manual), handling, style, interior is beautiful... o wait, the whole car is a Pro
Cons: ignorance from 330 auto owners
The Bottom Line: Unbelievable car. Really the ultimate driving machine. But please buy the car for its aspects and not the logo.

"The Joy of Driving", BMWs motto, is absolutly 100 percent accurate.Since Purchasing my 325, I have become the happiest driver on the planet. This car Rocks... from the sleek body to the awesome sports seats, this think is bangin!!

Exterior.
The 05 exterior has had a few changes to it for 05 because it was already beautiful. New for 05 is the triangular exterior signal indicator along with I believe a slightly larger grill with a more aggressive look.New 5 spoke wheels have also been added for the sport package. From the swooping hoodline to the grill, the 3 looks like a proper classy sports car.

Interior
The interior remains practically untouched for 05. The leatherette seats are amazing and you should definitely not pay the 1400 for the upgrade to something that looks the same but has twice the amount of matinence. I also think that paying 950 for electric seats arent worth the money unless more then 2 people are driving the car constantly because the manual adj. gets the exact same range of motion. The dash looks wonderful in black and the instrument gauges are spartan yet extremely functional and eminate a very pleasing orange glow when driving at night. Truely a driver's instrument panel. The myrtle wood trim is also gorgeous and really adds to the overall look and feel of the interior. The 5 speed shift knob is made from wonderful wood and fits my hand PERFECTLY (if you get aluminum trim, you get a black leather knob). The 12 way sport seats that come with the sport package are amazing. The front seating is compact yet comfortable but the rear seats in the coupe are only good for 2 adults when on a 30 min or lower trip.

Performance
Hands down, with MANUAL, the 325 is one of the smoothest, nicest performers on the market. The AUTO is quite slow compaired. If you were wondering about the 325 or 330... go with the 325, with a manny tranny, the 325 is as fast as the 330 with auto and 1000 times as fun to drive. The exaust note that comes from the 325 is magic. The handling is SUPERB. Compaired to other cars from the same market(A4-too slow, turbo lag annoying, S4-fast as heck but twice the price and some definite reliablility problems, Volvo s40-fun but not the right image, nissan z-someone should get fired for the quality of the interior, infinity g35-the best competitor but just looks a little too old and doesnt have the same razor sharp handling) the BMW has the best suspension of all and really does "ride on rails". At the race track, the car feels at home and can suprisingly compete with its much more powerful rivals. Pure pleasure is can be gotten.

THE MOST IMPORTANT CATAGORY...the drive...
As soon as I got on the open road, I was thrilled to see a series of s curves and straightaways that I could truely test this car to its full ability. On the s curves, there was little to no body roll when progressing through them in second gear hovering at about 3500 rpms. As soon as the curve was complete, with a little pressure from the right foot, the car thrusts ahead into the next series of curves with an enthuiastic temperment. Out of the curves, the straightaways let me see the stability of the car at high speeds(dont tell the mom). What can I say... it handles at 85 as it does 40. Absolute greatness. As for the extremely comfortable sport seats, they hold you in so well you truely do feel as if you are a part of the car. As for the suspension itself, it is extremely sport oriented but is very comfortable when driving on long trips. Truely the best of both worlds.

Transmission-butter... everything is SOOOO smooth and easy to use. Prior to the test drive, I had only 4 hours on a manual car. During the drive, the sales man thought that I had aleady owned a manual and had a very good drive. The clutch is amazingly soft and predictable. Compaired to the Japanese sports car clutches with seem to spring when they hit the point where you need to apply gas. The BMW is soo smooth that you dont even have to put much force on it to hold it in the right range. Superb!

Now that I have said everything that I love about the car, I need to say some things that I dont. The thing that eggs me the most is that for a 30+ k car, you dont get leather... even though ironicly the letherette is better, this just bothers me a little ( i guess they put the money into the A++++drive). My other little pet peeve is that the stupid carpet slides up every once and a wile.
Whats amazing is that thats all that I can really think of thats not exellent with this car.

In conclusion, if you are looking for a car that you will enjoy driving forever and has a marvelous resale values(in 2 yrs I should be able to get 25-30 for it), and is truely the Ultimate Driving Machine, this IS the car for you.
