Pros: Beautiful graphics, fast, and fun... When it works!
Cons: Computer Crashes Continually! Hard drive has been replaced twice. Bad customer service!
The Bottom Line: Be aware what you will go through if you get a computer that is a lemon. This computer crashed over and over right from the start. I feel helpless!

I have had nothing but problems with this computer since I bought it in April of 2003. It is a Lemon! The system crashed within 1 month and continued to crash regularly. Losing all of my data, and not being able to retrieve it is so frustrating.
The first time it crashed I took it back to the store I purchased it at (Best Buy) and they tried to retrieve my files off of the hard drive, but they could not. So they did a system restore and sent me home. It crashed again two weeks later. I took it to Best Buy, again they could not retrieve my files and they reinstalled the operating system. Two weeks later, crashed again. I called Best Buy technical support and they sent a person out to replace the hard drive. One month goes by and it crashes again. (Now you are probably wondering what I was doing to the computer to make it crash. I have Norton Anti-Virus, I did all my updates to it as well as Windows XP updates. I hardly ever download files. I do nothing on this computer that I did not do on my Sony Vaio-windows 98- that never crashed in the 4 years I had it!) So now this is the third crash and it has a new hard drive. I have a friend come over and he listens to the beep code (there is a series of beeps and pauses that tells what is failing) he said he thought it was a mother board code. I call HP directly and tell them I have a lemon with a mother board problem! I tell them the computer keeps crashing. They say send it in so they could look at it. They send me an empty box and I send it off to HP. I tried to keep track of where my computer went, by calling HP. They say they don't know right off, but track it down to Los Angeles, even though I mailed it to some other state. So my computer is getting bumped all over the country. I call the Los Angeles service center and they say the computer booted up fine and they found nothing wrong with it! They sent it back. I turn it on, it works fine for two weeks and then it crashes again. I was finally able to narrow it down to the optical mouse that came with the system. I put on an old fashioned roller ball mouse and it worked fine for two months.
It then crashed again -lost all my files, I called Best Buy they walked me through a operating system install. Plus I have reinstall everything else, everytime it crashes! One month later it crashes again. I call HP, they say if I send the computer in they will go through it and make it like new to me. (Yeah right! I trust that!-last time they said send it in, they could not find anything wrong) HP said they could not give me a new computer, but a refurbished one, that had been sent back to them previously!
I call Best Buy because I have the extended warranty that I purchased. They have a lemon rule. Three new parts replaced and if it crashes again, I will get a new computer. Best Buy agrees to replace the hard drive for me again. Two hard drives replaced and one more to go, then if it crashes again I get a new computer.
This review is really oversimplying what I have been through. Every time it crashes requires numerous phone calls and trips to take computer in. I have unplugged and plugged in my computer more times than I want to remember. I have reinstalled lost programs and files so many times I want to scream! I have only mentioned a fraction of what I have been through. I have screamed at them over the phone (both Best Buy and HP) and at the store, I have cried and cried, I have begged for a new computer. It is only 8 months old and I have been through Hell. All I want is a new computer with out the problems! It is ridiculous that I have to go through this. They are putting a band aid on the problem when they replace the hard drive. There is obviously something that is causing the hard drive to fail. How come no one can figure it out and put me out of my misery?
I feel so sad to have to write this review. This computer is my dream computer when it works. I waited so long to buy it, saving up my money! I absolutely was very satisfied with the product. I can make movies on it. Restore old photographs. Burn CD's and DVD's. I can do so much, so fast it is unbelievable. This computer is like the old poem about the little girl with a curl on her forehead. (if you are under 30 you probably won't recognize it!) When it is good, it is very very good and when it is bad it is very, very bad!
