SurgRN911's Full Review: Dirt Devil M087800 Bagless Upright Vacuum
After killing yet another vacuum, we decided to go back to the bag-less type. Our choice was the Dirt Devil M087800 because we have always been pleased with the Dirt Devil brand.

I have found this quite easy to use. It isn’t nearly as bulky and heavy as our previous bag-less cleaner and much easier to remove the container to dump the debris.
It is a bit loud but not unbearable. The tools are easy to access and use and it is nice to have them readily available while you are cleaning.
The extra long electrical cord is a blessing as only one plug in is needed for our 22 foot hallway. The on and off pedal is to the lower left along with the tilt lever a nice simple toe touch. Both are quite easily accessible.
This baby also has a very bright running light, now I don't know about you but I have enough trouble seeing in the daylight never mind vacuuming in the dark. Kinda like those head lights on lawn mowers :)
The cord is non retractable, but not too difficult to wind,and even easier to unwind the top hook turns so the cord just drops off.
The extended hose for reaching those little condos that get built in the corners of your ceiling is snapped over the back of the machine then fits snuggly in it's spot on the right side of the machine. The power brush snaps in the front of the machine, while all the other accessories fit nicely on the back of the machine.
The unit is somewhat attractive except for that nasty bundle of joy that collects in the container. In our defense, we do have new carpeting, 2 cats and 1 dog. It is a bit disgusting to watch it gather in the container. Makes one wonder just what we don’t see lying about.
So far it has done a thorough cleaning job and with the 15” cleaning base, it requires less pass throughs while vacuuming.
The varying heights for cleaning works well when going from our carpet to our tiled areas and I’m dying to give it a shot in the garage, once we locate the floor again.
Overall impression
Very pleased with this model and with Dirt Devil as a whole. I have found it does a really good job of cleaning up the pet hair and it is easy to empty.
Cleaning the unit is quite easy, a damp cloth for the outer surfaces and a quick wash for the collection container.
I would highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for a bag-less vacuum.
