Pros: Was inexpensive compared to a Hewlett Packard
Cons: Have had problems from day one.
The Bottom Line: I would really not recommend this computer. It has had more trouble than it was worth.

Boy did we think we were getting a deal with this machine. If my understanding of the emachines is correct, I believe that is is a lower end of Hewlett Packard. I really don't have much good to say about it. We have owned it for 4 years. After 2 months of owning, the system crashed on me and I had to use the reboot on it. I have had to do this at least 3 times since then. It will jam up until the only way we can shut it off is to unplug it. The hard drive died on us about 3 months ago. My brother helped us replace it and told me that it was one of the worst hard drives that there is. He knows because he is in computer design. (We replaced it with a Mextor.) It was really slow also. The new hard drive fixed that problem. I believe now that the disc drive is going on it. It came with 32MB RAM, 4.3 GB Hard drive, and a 56K Modem. It also has Windows 98. It does weird things all the time and I wouldn't buy another emachines again. We also added more memory because we couldn't get the amount we wanted when we bought it.
